Jan 12, 14:48
Hey Nirmala, Scott and others.

I don’t want to sound to enthusiastic, but is it possible that I might get my interview this time around? I just found out, so obviously I should ask again. I’ll be calling the label tomorrow to reobtain Scott’s number, and I look forward to seeing you all again. I do hope you come back sometime thereafter, though. The paper says you won’t be back for a while, but hopefully, “a while” means seven or eight months.

Hope you had a good holiday,
Matt

Is the Ottawa show 19+?

#11.  Burcu
Jan 15, 14:56
to the dude above, there is a show at the pavilion

jan 31-6pm
controller/okgo/hotshotrobot

for some reason it isn’t listed on the dates

#12.  benniep
Jan 15, 16:21
Felster – I’m sure we’re playing the show at The Drake. If we’re not, we’ll post the correction ASAP, but…

...Kate and Suze – I don’t think either of the Toronto shows will be AA (it’s almost guaranteed that the Lee’s show will be 19+.) Don’t know about the age requirement at the Hamilton show. However, if you don’t mind heading to Kingston on February 4, we’re playing an AA show at the Grad Club that day.

Burcu – The show at Surface is 19+, as far as I know. If you can’t make that show, you could come to Kingston the next day, where we will definitely be playing an AA show (see preceding paragraph). However…

...Bennie P, Devon and Oscarrr – I had no idea we were playing The Pavilion on the 31st. That would be nice, as AA shows at The Pavilion are always crazy/fun, but I don’t know if this particular date has been confirmed for us. Hmm. Still…

...Matt – I’m sure we’ll see you in Halifax, though!

Natalie – Take all the photos you like! I will take a photo of you for our web site as well (if you don’t mind).

Dave – See you in Connecticut!

#13.  Nirmala
Jan 15, 23:41
Just for the record, DON’T take for granted we’re playing somewhere until you see it here on the website. More than once now we’ve found ourselves on a bill we’ve never even heard of, or found ourselves listed under the wrong date or venue in the local papers. People make mistakes, lines get crossed – if you’re not sure, drop us a line and ask.

Ronnie:

The word of the 1/31 AA show at the Pavilion broke in one of Halifax’s indie papers, the Coast. If it’s just an unintentional error, I’m sure it will be rectified with the next issue (Thursday).

Nirmala:
I called Scott last night. Looks like the interview’s on, even though the label didn’t get back to me. I can’t wait to see you guys again, and even if I can’t see you in concert, I’ll just listen to X-Amounts another 15 times. Though, if you’ve read this whole post, the Coast also said you guys wouldn’t be back for a while. Please come do an AA show in ‘06.

AA: For people who care about the music, but just arn’t old enough to drink.

BennieP – You are correct! We are indeed playing The Pavilion on the 31st. Ronnie’s going to officially post the date on this site very soon.

Devon, Oscarrr and Matt (and any other willing Haligonians under the age of 19) – See you there!

#18.  Nirmala

Y HELLO THAR!

You guys should come visit Texas again… cause that was awesome the last time I saw you.

#19.  Brett
Jan 20, 11:42
Brett – We’re going to be at SXSW this year, so if you’re in Austin around that time, come see us! If you’d rather hang out in Dallas or Houston, I’m not sure that we’ll be playing those cities, though there is a good chance. We’ll keep you posted.

#20.  Nirmala
Jan 20, 19:12
I noticed your Ottawa tour date, but have yet to find anyone selling tickets in the city…

I checked with PRS (The guys who do events at Surface) and they replied with:
“not sure about this. the show is definitely not at surface though as the room won’t be ready til march 1st.i guess keep checking their site. it must be a misprint.”

So, what’s the deal with the Ottawa show?

#21.  Matt
Jan 20, 23:47
yeah.. the room isn’t ready or something.

we’re looking at alternate venues.

we’ll post it when we know.

Hi Everyone
The band has started the tour, and access to the internet is usually spotty when they’re on the road. They may take longer than usual to answer your questions. Try to contact the venues if you are uncertain about any details, and check back here occasionally.

Hey guys,
Thanks again for a great show in Halifax. Ronnie, you have a great ass. The gay boy posse of Halifax and I will hold it up any time for ya. Nirmala, thank you again so much for dedicating “The Raw No” to me. I cried like a 12 year old emo kid. Can’t wait to see the photos from the hali shows.

Yours in frienship and fandom,
S.

O – helpful as always. Good to see you in MTL.

Simon – Thank YOU! I’m always encouraged by the sight of you dancing in the front row, and when you take your shirt off, look out. “The Raw No” in your honour was totally deserved, darling. So great to know you.

Hi guys,

Its great to see your comin to the UK, but im really really gutted you by-passed liverpool barfly. Is there anyway you rekon you could squeeze it in???

Rumour has it that you were doing a show in NY on March 23…? TRUE? (oh please let it be true)

Come to Brazil, to Recife, we love your music :D

Mar 16, 10:28
Katie – we’d love to return to Boston, especially if it means playing with or at least meeting up with the lovely Read Yellow. I also like to fool people into thinking I’m a local mover-and-shaker named Sam Weerakoon when I’m in Massachusetts. When I’m not in MA, she’s mistaken for me. It’s fun. (Photos of her will be posted on the site soon if you’re curious about the resemblance, or lack thereof.)

Also: I’ve been told that a Boston show at TT’s on March 24 is still being advertised. This is not happening. We were forced to cancel the show about a month ago. To anyone who was planning on going to that show: hopefully we’ll see you soon!

Sam – it wasn’t really our decision to skip Liverpool, especially as we’ve yet to play there and we’d at least like to visit. We’ve had someone planning our UK route, for which we’re thankful, but unfortunately this means a few cities get left out, including ones we’ve played in the past. I don’t think it’ll be squeezed in, sadly, but maybe we’ll end up there in the not-too-distant future.

Lara – much like the rumours about us playing in Boston on the 24th (see the comment for Katie above), the rumour about the NYC show on the 23rd is false. However, we seem to end up in New York quite often, so hopefully it won’t be too long before we see you.

Icaro – thank you! I’m sure we’d love Brazil, too. Maybe one day we’ll make it down there!

SO TRUE. But it was wonderful to meet you, lassana nona. (That was my piss-poor attempt at writing Sinhalese words using Western characters. Imagine it read with a thick island accent!)

I look forward to seeing you again!

(Also, if anyone would like to observe just how un-identical Sam and I are – despite being mistaken for each other ALL THE TIME, including once at SXSW while we were sitting side by side – check the “TWINS” photo in the Tour Photos section of the Gallery.)
