Let's Go Europe

Posted Apr 19, 20:48 by Nirmala Basnayake

We manage to break a van in another continent (and it wouldn’t be a proper c.c tour if van troubles weren’t involved)...we dance dance dance with young sensations…we sneak a 12-year-old into a bar (though he is certainly a musically mature 12-year-old)...we try to keep our hands off Jim Reid’s amp…we sleep in a house once owned by members of the Hellfire Club…we reunite with the legendary Thaddeus Skewes…we storm the late night streets of Glasgow with the Victorian English Gentlemen’s Club…we foil a thief…we search for chips and curry…we run into Canadians…we think about using the pun “Gay Bomb on Wardour Street”...we eat as much food as the Germans can throw at us…we marvel at self-cleaning toilets…we play Foosball/Fussball with the Swiss…we are asked by German comptrollers if we are on drugs as they cannot understand what we write on our site…we go round the pub…we have our hair washed…and most of it is caught on camera.

Please, enjoy the photos! Have a look at the shots from our Lee’s Palace show and MTV Canada stint while you’re at it.

Thank you/danke schoen/cheers. (Kevin, how do I insert umlauts?)

“Musically mature 12 year old” – don’t encourage him! I’ve already lost my entire Joy Division back catalogue to him. But thanks again guys, he loved it. Your EuroPictures offer a revealing insight into the band’s collective psyche I thought – Berry fights indeed! ;-) and I hope the Mask thief was dealt with appropriately too! Enjoy your well earned rest and see you back in the UK soon to warm up for your support slot for The Cult – you’ll blow ‘em away!

“Craig UK” (very nice!) – really, it was great to see you again and finally meet Rowan. He’s a truly fantastic person and astonishingly tuned in for someone so young. He has you to thank for a lot of that, no doubt – and we’re all envious of a boy with a cool dad – but there’s no denying he’s got quite a good head on his shoulders. The two of you are so fortunate to have each other!

We’re proud to have you and Rowan as friends. Please keep in touch! We’ll see you soon…

Holy Crap! I never saw so many stripy shirts. Ronnie told me that every other person in Europe wore one. I guess he’s gonna gave to retire his. sniff sniff.

nirms, you have to find the special character palette equivalent for the PC, the umlaut should be in there….

Thanks, Kevin! Too bad I’m too lazy to go back and insert all the required umlauts.
